A Heritage in the Woods

Our roots in the Texas Hill Country run deep. I come from a long line of woodsmen whose lives and livelihoods were built around working the land and caring for trees. My father spent 27 years running a successful commercial tree service, FTS, where he worked extensively with electric co-ops clearing and maintaining right-of-ways. Before that, my grandfather operated Texas Cedar Products, a cedar mill that served the region for over 20 years, producing quality cedar materials from the forests of the Hill Country. And long before them, my great-grandfather—a World War II veteran—made his living the old-fashioned way, cutting cedar posts and producing charcoal by hand. Generations of hard work in the woods have shaped the knowledge, respect for the land, and work ethic that guide everything we do today.
